Romance in a delightful Regency romp starring a mousy little widow who goes disguised as a man to “chaperone” a friend. Author James is a cut above many Regency authors with her subtle wit and excellent characterizations. If all you read for is the seduction scenes, skip this one; I'd say it's maybe a 2. But if you enjoy a fully rounded cast of characters, and a heroine above the cut, James is your author. A 4.
